The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia has launched an attack on the Congress, following their objections to the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) module exploring the Partition. Speaking at a press conference, Bhatia branded the Congress as the 'Rahul-Jinnah' party, criticizing them for being uncomfortable with historical truths.
Bhatia claimed that the ideological parallels between Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Mohammad Ali Jinnah were evident in their alleged communal and appeasement politics. He accused Congress of pushing for religion-based reservations and called for current and future generations to understand the true narrative of India's Partition.
Congress leader Pawan Khera countered these remarks, accusing the NCERT module of distorting history. He criticized the omission of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) role during the Partition and claimed that Hindu Mahasabha's collaboration with the Muslim League was a pivotal factor in the Partition. The heated debate continues to stir political tensions and historical scrutiny.
