Bolsonaro: From House Arrest to Hospital
Brazil's former President Jair Bolsonaro temporarily left house arrest to undergo medical exams in Brasilia, clearing him for ongoing treatment of past injuries. Hospitalized several times since a 2018 stabbing, Bolsonaro faces trial at Brazil's Supreme Court for alleged election misconduct, which he denies.

Brazil's former President Jair Bolsonaro was briefly released from house arrest to undergo crucial medical examinations in Brasilia. Authorized by a judge, Bolsonaro spent six to eight hours at DF Star Hospital for evaluations of fever, cough, gastroesophageal reflux, and hiccups.
Medical professionals at the hospital reported findings of residual signs of two recent pulmonary infections and persistent esophagitis and gastritis. Following the assessments, Bolsonaro was discharged and directed to continue treatment with medication. This visit adds to his history of hospitalizations following a stabbing incident during his 2018 presidential campaign.
Amid ongoing legal battles, Bolsonaro is under scrutiny by Brazil's Supreme Court for alleged attempts to cling to power after his 2022 electoral loss to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Although he denies any misconduct, Bolsonaro's situation remains contentious, with public demonstrations labeling his prosecution as political persecution.
