U.S. Pursues Peace Amid Russia-Ukraine Tensions: A Possible Breakthrough?
The U.S. continues efforts to end Russia's war in Ukraine, though peace may be elusive, according to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Upcoming discussions in Washington will involve key European and U.S. leaders, aiming to explore security guarantees and potential concessions for a peace agreement.

The United States remains committed to crafting a scenario to help end the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, although such a resolution might still be out of reach, as per U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio's remarks to CBS on Sunday.
During an interview on 'Face the Nation,' Rubio stated that the U.S. aims to prevent a prolonged conflict that could lead to thousands more casualties. European leaders, alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, are slated to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington on Monday. The meeting seeks to strengthen Ukraine's position as Trump urges for a swift peace deal following his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin last Friday.
Sources indicate that Trump's discussions with Putin involved the potential for Russia to surrender small occupied areas of Ukraine in return for Ukraine's concession of a fortified eastern region. Rubio emphasized the necessity of concessions from both parties if a peace deal is to be reached.
