In a strategic reshuffle, the Congress has officially appointed Salman Khurshid, a former Union minister, as the new chairperson of its foreign affairs department. This move follows Anand Sharma's recent resignation from the position.
The announcement was made in a statement by K C Venugopal, the party general secretary of the organisation, confirming the immediate effect of the appointments. Brijendra Singh and Arathi Krishan have also been designated as vice chairpersons of the department.
The Congress conveyed its appreciation for Anand Sharma's contributions during his tenure as chairperson, acknowledging his efforts and dedication to the department's objectives.
