The collision resulted in the deaths of Mahendra Solanki, aged 35, his wife Jayshree Solanki, aged 33, and their two sons, Jigar and Tejas. The incident prompted the Congress party to accuse the police of filing a weak case against the bus driver to shield those connected to the ruling BJP, as the offending vehicle was operated by a firm linked to a BJP legislator's family.
