The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday launched a scathing criticism of Rahul Gandhi, alleging his accusations against constitutional bodies, such as the Election Commission (EC), display a lack of faith in democratic processes. The BJP suggested Gandhi is attempting to incite unrest in India akin to that in Nepal and Bangladesh.
Anurag Thakur, a former Union minister, accused Gandhi of prioritizing 'infiltrators first' politics. Thakur claimed Gandhi's opposition to the EC's review of electoral rolls, allegedly shielding illegal voters, could harm communities like Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes, whose interests he professes to support.
Gandhi's assertions of "vote chori" were rejected by the EC, which labeled them 'incorrect and baseless'. Amidst accusations of drama and 'hit and run' politics, BJP's Thakur maintained that Gandhi was avoiding filing a formal affidavit or moving to court due to a lack of evidence to support his claims.
