UDF Opposition Stages Assembly Walkout Over Police Misconduct

The Congress-led UDF opposition walked out of the Kerala assembly on Friday, expressing discontent over the government's failure to act against police officers accused of assaulting a Youth Congress leader two years ago.

Opposition Leader V D Satheesan expressed his dissatisfaction, highlighting that two UDF MLAs, Saneesh Kumar and A K M Ashraf, have been holding an indefinite 'Satyagraha' outside the assembly since Tuesday, demanding action against the accused officers.

The protest took place after the UDF raised concerns during the Zero hour over the custodial torture incidents in the state, weeks after CCTV footage of the alleged torture surfaced.
