The Tipra Motha Party (TMP), a partner in Tripura's coalition government led by the BJP, intends to spotlight two significant concerns in the state Assembly on September 23 — the status of the Tiprasa accord and the issue of illegal infiltration.
Prior to last year's Lok Sabha elections, TMP reached an agreement with the Centre and the state government aimed at the comprehensive development of the region's indigenous people. However, TMP legislator Ranjit Debbarma expressed the party's dissatisfaction with the progress during a conversation with PTI.
Despite TMP's participation in the government, they contend they remain in the dark about many issues due to their limited representation. Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma argued that constituents deserve transparency on these matters, urging the government for updates on the accord and border control measures.
