Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, in a brazen address at the Shiv Sena's annual Dusshera rally, accused the UPA government of 'treachery' for its decision not to retaliate against Pakistan following the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

Shinde pointed to remarks from senior Congress leader P Chidambaram, who suggested the UPA was hindered by international pressure, as a misstep that contradicted India's interests. Highlighting Prime Minister Modi's robust response to a later terror strike, Shinde underscored a shift in India's geopolitical stance.

He further derided the Shiv Sena (UBT) for seemingly sympathizing with Pakistan, suggesting their allegiance lay elsewhere—a charge mirrored at the rival rally where they questioned the current Sena leadership's integrity.
