Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has officially named Harmeet Singh Sandhu as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for the upcoming bypoll in the Tarn Taran Assembly constituency. This announcement comes in the wake of the seat becoming vacant due to the death of AAP MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal in June.

During a gathering in Tarn Taran, Mann declared Sandhu, a seasoned politician and a three-time MLA from the constituency, as the choice for the party. Mann emphasized Sandhu's potential to help address local issues and drive development, promising a proactive approach if Sandhu is elected.

The bypoll date is yet to be announced by the Election Commission. Sandhu, who joined AAP in July, aims to return to the assembly after contesting unsuccessfully in 2017 and 2022. Mann expressed confidence in Sandhu's ability to garner public support, highlighting AAP's agenda for development and a corruption-free governance model.
