Himachal Pradesh is gearing up for panchayati raj elections scheduled between December 15 and 20, according to Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh. Despite the dissolution of the Pradesh Congress Committee, Singh is confident that this will not impact Congress's performance in the upcoming elections.
On November 6, 2024, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge dissolved the state and district units, although state president Pratibha Singh retained her position. Minister Singh, while inaugurating the Gramin Swad Mahotsav, announced that the state election commission is diligently preparing for the polls, with plans to release a polling roster shortly.
Minister Singh expressed optimism regarding Congress-supported candidates in the elections, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to fortify the rural economy. He highlighted the five-day festival of local cuisines as a means to promote traditional food and support local culture.
