Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf underscored Lebanon's pivotal role in a regional ceasefire, following a meeting with Pakistan's army chief, Gen Asim Munir, in Tehran.
The comments were broadcast on Iranian state television shortly after US President Donald Trump declared a 10-day ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel to halt ongoing hostilities involving Hezbollah, which is closely aligned with Iran.
Despite the truce, resumption of direct US-Iran dialogue remains uncertain, as the two nations prepare for another round of Pakistan-mediated negotiations.
