Ritu Chaudhary, the Congress national spokesperson, heavily criticized the BJP on Wednesday, accusing them of spreading false information across the nation concerning women's reservation. She charged that the union government presented the delimitation bill under the pretense of benefiting women, only for it to be blocked by opposition forces in parliament.

Chaudhary expressed concern that the bill had the potential to significantly alter the political landscape, particularly in the northeastern, southern states, and Goa, by curtailing their representation and enhancing BJP-favorable regions. She articulated that the BJP's perceived intentions behind this bill were not in good faith.

In her remarks, Chaudhary stressed that though the opposition backed the BJP in passing the Women's Reservation Bill in 2023, the lack of its immediate enactment suggested ulterior motives from the government, further discrediting their commitment to female representation in the upcoming elections.
