In a pointed critique, senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee has accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of disrespecting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Addressing a rally in Joynagar, South 24 Parganas, Abhishek Banerjee called out Shah's dismissive reference to Mamata Banerjee during a recent election gathering, describing it as indicative of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) lack of respect for women in leadership roles.
He further alleged that BJP targeted Mamata Banerjee, the only female opposition chief minister, vowed to challenge BJP's purported citizenship checks on Bengalis, and criticized the migration of former CPI(M) members to the saffron party.
