In a sharp rebuttal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claims, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Thursday insisted that the high voter turnout in West Bengal's polls was a strong endorsement of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's regime.
TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh asserted that the surge in polling, reaching nearly 90% in some districts, reflects firm support for Banerjee and her developmental agenda, not a call for change. Ghosh projected that TMC could secure a minimum of 125 seats, potentially rising to 134, signifying rejection of the BJP's narrative.
The TMC further argued that increased voter participation, especially among women, backed their policies and charged that the BJP misrepresenting the data was an attempt at political survival.
