Polling Chaos: Staff Suspended in West Bengal Fiasco

The Election Commission took swift action on Thursday by suspending all polling personnel at a Pingla Assembly segment booth in West Bengal. The decision came after officials allegedly left the booth unattended during crucial voting hours, an official confirmed.

The lapse, which occurred when the entire team left for lunch, has prompted an inquiry. The District Election Officer is now tasked with investigating the incident and is expected to submit a formal report.

Meanwhile, a reserve team ensured polling at the booth continued smoothly, allowing the electoral process for the 152 constituencies in the first phase of the West Bengal assembly elections to proceed without further hindrance.
