Akhilesh Yadav Slams BJP’s Stance on Women’s Safety and Reservation

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack against the BJP government on Thursday, highlighting the perceived lack of safety and reservation for women.

Yadav stated that crimes against women had risen significantly under the BJP's rule, labelling the government as anti-women for allegedly neglecting women's welfare in health, education, and dignity. He emphasized the need for both 'sanrakshan' (protection) and 'aarakshan' (reservation) for women, whilst also advocating for a caste census to benefit underrepresented communities.

The former chief minister also critiqued the BJP for stalling development in Etawah, his hometown, accusing them of facilitating land encroachments and neglecting regional progress. Yadav predicted a BJP defeat in the ongoing West Bengal elections and reiterated his party's grievance regarding discrimination against Etawah.
