Nadda Rebukes Congress Over Fertilizer Shortage Claims

Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers J P Nadda has strongly countered Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's claims regarding an alleged fertilizer shortage in India. Nadda dismissed the remarks as "highly misinformed" and accused the opposition of attempting to mislead farmers for political gain.

In his defense, Nadda emphasized that the Modi government has consistently ensured the availability of fertilizers, which he claimed has "outpaced requirements." He highlighted the subsidy support providing fertilizers at prices significantly lower than global costs, safeguarding Indian farmers against market fluctuations.

Nadda detailed ongoing coordination with state authorities to prevent fertilizer-related issues like hoarding and black marketing. In response to Kharge's allegations, he stated that the government had secured additional urea supplies through global tendering and maintained a robust stock position.
