The Congress party has declared its unwavering support for leader Pawan Khera following the Gauhati High Court's decision to reject his anticipatory bail request. Congress's general secretary, Jairam Ramesh, emphasized their confidence that justice will triumph over alleged political intimidation.
Khera, the Chairman of the Congress's Media and Publicity Department, is facing legal scrutiny after accusing Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's wife of possessing multiple passports and undisclosed international properties. These claims led to criminal cases filed against Khera for allegedly possessing forged documents.
Despite being granted transit anticipatory bail by the Telangana High Court, Khera is now required by the Supreme Court to approach the Gauhati High Court. Congress plans to contest the High Court's verdict in the Supreme Court, maintaining hope for a favorable outcome.
