The recent tragedy involving a Dalit girl's death in Uttar Pradesh has ignited a political storm. Allegations claim the young girl was raped and murdered, and her family faced threats to discourage them from filing an FIR. Political leaders, including Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi, have voiced strong demands for justice and accountability.
Yadav, who plans to visit the victim's family, criticized the BJP government, accusing them of exploiting tragic incidents for political gain. He alleged that party figures pressured victims to recant statements. Meanwhile, Congress' Priyanka Vadra condemned rising atrocities against women in the state.
Authorities, however, assure ongoing investigations. Varanasi ADG Piyush Mordia visited the site, stating arrests have been made and the family showed satisfaction with police efforts. Nonetheless, political tensions escalate, with accusations against BJP's handling of the case, as leaders call for effective action and transparency.
