West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee invigorated her campaign on Sunday with a vibrant 'padyatra' through the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency in south Kolkata as the electoral race reached its climax.
Amid the spirited strains of the song 'Jotoi Koro Hamla Abar Jitbe Bangla', Banerjee engaged with the local populace, covering a one-kilometer expanse from Lansdown Crossing to Kalighat Fire Services Station. The event sparkled with lively chants of 'Didi Didi', traditional drumming, and the cultural 'chou dance' from Purulia.
Banerjee, in a bid for re-election, is facing off against opposition leader and BJP heavyweight Suvendu Adhikari, with the second phase of the elections slated for April 29.
