On Monday, Congress leaders launched a critique against the LDF government, focusing on the issue of unannounced power cuts plaguing Kerala amid a significant electricity shortage. This criticism comes after the LDF touted the elimination of power cuts during its Assembly election campaign.
KPCC president Sunny Joseph challenged the electricity minister's assertion that load-shedding is not occurring, pointing out daily power outages. He urged the government to acknowledge the electricity crisis and abandon what he termed a 'hiding game.' Joseph highlighted that the LDF government's election campaign claims of improved electricity supply were misleading.
Fellow Congress leaders echoed this sentiment. K Muraleedharan mocked the LDF's claims, while V M Sudheeran emphasized the distress caused by frequent power cuts amidst a harsh summer. They urged the government to explore all avenues to procure electricity and resolve the ongoing crisis.
