Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared on Monday that central security forces would remain in West Bengal for an additional week after the assembly elections. Speaking to supporters in Behala, Shah assured them of security, urging them to cast their votes without fear of intimidation.
Shah's rally, aimed at supporting BJP candidates, turned parts of South Kolkata into a vibrant display of saffron flags and slogans. Riding on an open-hood vehicle, the minister engaged with the masses, exuding confidence in a BJP victory bolstered by visible public support.
Shah accused the ruling TMC of corruption in social welfare schemes and reiterated the BJP's commitment to transforming West Bengal into 'Sonar Bangla'. He cited a strong anti-incumbency wave in favor of the BJP, promising to oust infiltrators and restore integrity.
