Amidst exit poll forecasts favoring the DMK, Union Minister of State L Murugan expressed confidence that the NDA would triumph in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, scheduled for April 23. Speaking to reporters, Murugan suggested widespread dissatisfaction with the DMK government has fueled increased voter turnout.
Highlighting the concept of a 'double-engine government', Murugan emphasized how a government led by AIADMK at the state level, complemented by BJP at the national level, could ensure the delivery of welfare measures to residents of Tamil Nadu. He cited examples from Haryana and Maharashtra, where BJP-led alliances claimed victory despite contradictory exit polls.
Murugan, contesting as a BJP candidate from the Avanashi constituency, predicted a significant shift in Tamil Nadu politics with AIADMK at the helm. Vote counting is scheduled for May 4 across all 234 Assembly segments, which will determine the final outcome of the elections.
