Former Indian cricketer and outgoing Trinamool Congress MLA, Manoj Tiwary, has announced his decision to exit politics, attributing it to significant corruption within the party. Tiwary, who served as the Minister of State for Sports, alleged that he was denied a ticket from the Howrah's Shibpur constituency for not paying a bribe of Rs five crore.
Tiwary expressed his discontent with the internal workings of the Trinamool Congress, criticizing the lack of development and rampant corrupt practices. He also dismissed allegations of extortion, defending his financial integrity with his earnings from a successful sports career.
Despite his political departure, Tiwary remains committed to the sport, having applied for the position of Bengal's Ranji team coach. He aims to leverage his cricket experience to guide the next generation, transitioning from player to coach with aspirations to impact the field positively.
