Former Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Jawhar Sircar expressed his concern over delays in the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) probe of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital incident.
Sircar stated it was unfortunate for families to align politically for justice, revealing insights following the BJP's victory over the TMC in West Bengal assembly elections, where the victim's mother emerged victorious in the Panihati constituency.
The case involves the rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee in August 2024, leading to widespread outrage and a subsequent CBI investigation handed by the Calcutta High Court. Although convictions have occurred, Sircar and others question the pace and thoroughness of the investigation.
