The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has voiced its frustration over delays in appointing Kerala's next Chief Minister, warning that ongoing indecision could lead to political ramifications. The IUML's concerns emerge amidst an atmosphere of suspense within the Congress party over the leadership role, a week after the UDF's landmark victory in the April 9 Assembly elections.
P Abdul Hameed, the IUML Malappuram district general secretary, conveyed that the delay has already led to discontent among party workers and voters. He emphasized that people across Kerala are questioning the delay, citing interactions at various public gatherings, where the issue was frequently discussed.
The IUML has communicated its stance on the Chief Ministerial candidate to Congress, expressing belief that its views will be duly considered. Despite the UDF's considerable mandate, the lack of decision has dampened victory celebrations and restrained elected officials from participating in public events, reflecting the growing dissatisfaction.
