In the midst of heated debates over Kerala's next Chief Minister, BJP state chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar stirred the political pot with a sarcastic remark aimed at Congress's delayed decision. On Monday, Chandrasekhar's comments intensified speculation around Congress leader K C Venugopal as a strong contender for the position.
Chandrasekhar responded to a social media post suggesting the Kerala BJP wanted Venugopal in the state, whereas the national BJP preferred him in New Delhi. "My response: I will neither confirm nor deny that this is true," Chandrasekhar tweeted, highlighting the internal schism and the protracted CM contention.
The post ridiculed the perceived indecisiveness within Congress. Despite ongoing lobbying from top candidates including V D Satheesan and Ramesh Chennithala, the focus remained on Venugopal. Chandrasekhar's sarcastic stance added a fresh layer of intrigue to the ongoing uncertainty in the Congress's high-command decisions regarding Kerala's leadership.
