Himanta Biswa Sarma to Lead Assam for Another Term

Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to take the oath as the chief minister of Assam on Tuesday, joined by ministers from the BJP and its allies. This marks the third NDA government in Assam, with Sarma leading for a second term, achieving a unique non-Congress leadership milestone in the state.
Senior BJP figure Ranjeet Kumar Dass is nominated for the Speaker role in the state Assembly, as Sarma confirmed via a message on X. Sarma expressed pride in the announcement of his colleagues' induction as ministers, including Shri Rameswar Teli, Shri Atul Bora, Shri Charan Boro, and Smt Ajanta Neog.
Elaborate arrangements are in place for the swearing-in ceremony at the Khanapara Veterinary College field, which will host thousands, with a separate dais for distinguished guests. Not only NDA allies but also dignitaries from non-NDA groups, including Mizoram's chief minister, will grace the occasion.
