The BJP-led NDA government in Assam, spearheaded by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, commenced its third consecutive term on Tuesday. A ceremonial swearing-in marked the beginning, with Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administrating the oath to key political figures.
Significant among them was Ajanta Neog, Assam's longest-serving woman legislator and a prominent figure of political perseverance. Joining her were Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora from the Asom Gana Parishad, and Charan Boro from the Bodoland People's Front — each bringing their unique experiences to the table.
The event was graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other high-profile leaders. While the portfolios for new ministers are still under wraps, their entry signifies a strategic blend of continuity and innovation under the NDA's leadership.
