Sunil Jakhar, the president of Punjab BJP, launched a scathing attack on the ruling AAP government for failing to release pending dearness allowance (DA) to state employees and pensioners, accusing them of political deflection. He highlighted that over 3 lakh employees and 4 lakh pensioners await their rightful DA payments amounting to Rs 15,000 crore.

Jakhar lambasted AAP for reneging on its electoral promises of job provision without protests, claiming this has exposed the government's anti-employee stance. Citing the Punjab and Haryana High Court's directive for DA arrears clearance, he criticized the government's legal challenge against it as unprecedented since independence.

He emphasized Punjab needing robust leadership, asserting only BJP can ensure safety and financial justice for employees. Jakhar also criticized the planned use of ballot papers in upcoming elections, pledging BJP opposition and vowing to secure employee welfare and integrity in the face of AAP strategies.
