The Congress, on Thursday, countered allegations made by the BJP regarding Rahul Gandhi's foreign trips, accusing the ruling party of using them as a distraction from pressing economic issues under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh criticized BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra for emphasizing Gandhi's travel expenses, suggesting he should focus on more substantial issues. The BJP has demanded clarity on the funding sources for Gandhi's trips, pointing out alleged discrepancies between his reported income and travel expenditures.
