Mamata Banerjee, leader of the Trinamool Congress, made a notable appearance in Calcutta High Court to highlight the troubling post-poll violence in West Bengal, accusing police of inactivity during recent attacks on her party members. Banerjee asserted the necessity of judicial intervention to curb violence in the state.
Continuing her legal advocacy, Banerjee criticized implications that West Bengal could become a "bulldozer state" akin to other regions enforcing justice via demolition drives. She stressed that such methods were inappropriate and urged thorough investigation into crimes with fair legal procedures.
The BJP, currently leading in the state, contended their administration is minimizing political violence. They dismissed TMC's claims, asserting internal conflicts within TMC as the catalyst for the violence, a notion strongly opposed by Banerjee.
