Clashes or Cooperation? Xi and Trump Tackle Taiwan and Trade

In a high-stakes summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping cautioned US President Donald Trump against mismanaging the Taiwan issue, warning it could lead to significant bilateral conflicts. The leaders engaged in comprehensive talks covering key areas such as the Iran war, trade, and energy security.
Following two hours of discussions in Beijing, Trump extended an invitation to Xi to visit the White House. Both leaders concurred on the necessity of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open, emphasizing the importance to global energy needs. They also agreed to boost economic cooperation and increase investment and market access for American businesses in China.
The meeting saw participation from major American business executives, and both sides highlighted the need to curb the flow of fentanyl precursors into the US. Agreement was reached on preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, and increasing agricultural product trade. Xi also expressed interest in purchasing more American oil to reduce reliance on the strait.
