Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi convened a high-level meeting on Thursday to focus on sanitation and monsoon readiness in the city. The meeting took place at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi headquarters and included key officials, emphasizing enhanced coordination for effective sanitation measures.
During the session, Wahi urged civic officials to prioritize cleanliness and streamline coordination with the Public Works Department, flood control, and the Delhi Jal Board ahead of the rainy season. He emphasized the importance of presenting a clean image of Delhi, especially at its borders and entry points, through targeted cleanliness drives.
To improve accountability, the mayor instructed that contact numbers of sanitation officers be publicly displayed, allowing residents to directly address concerns. MCD Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar highlighted the mission-critical status of sanitation and announced additional resources and a waste management plan to improve cleanliness citywide.
