The Election Commission is set to conduct a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, targeting an extensive 2.64 crore voters in Jharkhand through meticulous door-to-door verification starting June 30. The initiative marks the third phase of the nationwide poll panel campaign, spanning 16 states and three Union Territories.
According to Jharkhand's chief electoral officer K Ravi Kumar, preparations have commenced well ahead of the exercise aimed at ensuring no eligible voter is left unaccounted. A list of unmapped voters will be published on May 23 at polling stations, featuring contact details of booth-level officers (BLOs) to facilitate voter mapping and verification.
The revision task will involve 29,571 booth-level officers, supported by 21,644 Booth Level Agents from political parties, enhancing transparency and accuracy. Verified draft rolls are scheduled for publication on August 5, with a period for objections extending until September 4, ahead of final roll publication on October 7.
