Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Friday honored the late Bharatiya Janata Party stalwart, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, by placing floral tributes at his statue on Rani Road, Udaipur. The tribute event commemorated the late Vice President of India and former Rajasthan Chief Minister on his death anniversary, with Minister Shekhawat reflecting on Babosa's legacy.
The Union Minister also echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent call for national economic resilience, urging citizens to heed his appeal responsibly. Minister Shekhawat highlighted his own commitment to fuel conservation by significantly downsizing his convoy, aligning with Modi's directive, and underscoring the need for collective action and resource conservation.
In the wake of the ongoing West Asia conflict, which has disrupted the Strait of Hormuz and led to soaring Brent oil prices above USD 100 per barrel, PM Modi has implored citizens to shift toward sustainable energy practices. He recommended reducing petrol and diesel consumption by using public transportation, carpooling, and increasing electric vehicle use, as part of efforts to mitigate India's reliance on imported fuel.
