Both leaders had been in the running for the chief minister's post, but the All India Congress Committee announced Satheesan for the position.
Chennithala, after being absent, returned to Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. The meeting between the two, initially delayed, took place at Chennithala's residence. Joined by other Congress figures, the leaders held a private discussion, reflecting unity and a shared vision for Kerala's political landscape.
Satheesan received blessings from Chennithala, acknowledging the senior leader's influence since his student days. While cabinet roles remain undecided, both expressed commitment to leading Kerala beyond a decade of LDF governance, highlighting personal bonds within the party.
