Haryana Congress Protests Fuel Price Hikes

The Haryana Congress is gearing up for district-level protests in response to the recent hike in petrol and diesel prices, which have escalated by Rs 3 per litre. The protests, led by Haryana Congress President Rao Narender Singh, are set to take place from May 18-20, emphasizing the organization's dissatisfaction with the central government's fiscal policies.

Rao Narender Singh lambasted the BJP-led regime, attributing the spike in fuel costs to anti-people policies that have exacerbated inflation. According to Singh, these escalating prices strain household budgets and significantly impact transportation and essential commodities, thereby mounting pressure on ordinary citizens.

Singh also highlighted the broad effects such increased costs have on agriculture, business, and industry, exacerbating operational expenses and diminishing consumer purchasing power. The statewide demonstrations aim to pressurize the government into slashing exorbitant taxes levied on fuels, offering some reprieve to the economically burdened populace.
