The Trinamool Congress (TMC) finds itself embroiled in legal troubles as MP Dola Sen expressed confidence in the triumph of 'truth and justice' after an FIR was filed against the party's general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee. The allegations stem from purportedly inflammatory speeches made during the West Bengal Assembly election campaign.
Addressing the media, Sen emphasized that the ultimate verdict rests on justice and the public's perception. Her statement came in the wake of an FIR lodged at the Bidhannagar North Cyber Crime Police Station, claiming Banerjee incited violence and disturbed public order through his contentious remarks, including comments about DJs and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The complaint, submitted by Rajib Sarkar on May 15, accuses Banerjee of using aggressive language at various rallies which allegedly fomented political unrest. Charges have been laid under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Representation of the People Act, 1951 as West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh criticized the TMC's perceived tyranny.
