On Saturday, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal confirmed that VD Satheesan will assume the role of Kerala's Chief Minister, representing the United Democratic Front (UDF) government. Despite internal speculations, Venugopal emphasized the unity within the Congress party, asserting that every member stands aligned with the decisions of the top leadership.

Speaking to the press post a strategic meeting among senior leaders, Venugopal remarked that discussions were standard procedure. He underscored the public expectation for good governance and significant developmental change under Satheesan's leadership. He clarified, "VD Satheesan's swearing-in as Chief Minister is slated for two days from now, and the entire state will benefit from a meticulously structured UDF government."

The Congress-led UDF marked a significant political shift by ending the Left Democratic Front's ten-year governance, gaining a decisive victory of 102 seats in the 140-member Assembly. Although there were whispers of discord following the nomination of Satheesan with Ramesh Chennithala's absence from a crucial meeting, Venugopal assured reporters that differences would be managed internally. Satheesan reaffirmed his collaborative approach in cabinet formation, signaling smooth intra-party operations amid the transition.
