Tamil Nadu State Assembly Speaker JCD Prabhakar assured residents of swift infrastructure upgrades, vowing to install adequate drainage systems and roads within a month. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Prabhakar underscored the enduring grievances faced by locals, noting their lack of basic amenities despite residing in the area for generations.
Prabhakar emphasized that addressing the chronic drainage problems and ensuring access to clean drinking water are his top priorities. He underscored his election campaign promises by reiterating his commitment to improving living conditions, particularly in housing blocks plagued by waterlogging for over three years.
Recently elected as Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker, Prabhakar, representing Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), defeated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidate Ezhlian Naganathan in the Thousand Lights constituency during the 2026 Assembly elections. His ascension was unanimously supported, reflecting cross-party respect and cooperation.
