AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang has asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is orchestrating a plan to disqualify legitimate voters in Punjab under the guise of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Kang called on the Election Commission of India (ECI) to oversee the SIR transparently, emphasizing that democracy can only be safeguarded if the voting rights of bonafide citizens are protected.
Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann warned against fraudulent voting tactics and pledged that AAP members would monitor polling booths to prevent any wrongdoing. This comes as ECI initiates a state-wide revision of electoral rolls to be conducted from June 25 to July 24.
