V D Satheesan took the oath as Kerala's Chief Minister on Monday after the Congress-led UDF secured a decisive victory in the Assembly elections. The ceremony, led by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, took place at Central Stadium, where 20 ministers were also sworn in alongside Satheesan.
The newly formed Cabinet is notable for its mix of seasoned politicians and newcomers, featuring 14 first-time ministers. This diverse group includes two women and two representatives from the Scheduled Caste community, highlighting a commitment to social inclusivity.
Prominent UDF figures such as Ramesh Chennithala and PK Kunhalikutty are expected to hold key portfolios, ensuring a balance between experienced leadership and fresh perspectives. The Congress controls 11 ministerial positions, the IUML has five, and other allies have secured one each.
