Over 3 lakh passport applications processed by Bhopal regional office in 2025

The regional passport office in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal has processed more than three lakh passport applications in 2025, a senior official said on Friday.

Regional Passport Officer Shitanshu Chaurasiya gave this information to Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh.

The Regional Passport Office in Bhopal processed an unprecedented 3 lakh plus passport applications in 2025. From a geographical perspective, it is the largest passport office in the country and is also among the fastest-growing passport offices, he said.

Over the past three years, this office has expanded its network from 19 offices to 28 offices, including the newly-constructed RPO building and Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) Indore, thereby extending passport services to a larger population across the State, an official statement said.

During the visit, the Union minister reviewed the passport and related services being provided by the office.

He also undertook a detailed inspection of the newly-constructed RPO building and reviewed various citizen-centric facilities including the Grievance Cell, Child Care Room, Library, Wall of Fame and other public-oriented amenities available for applicants.

The MoS was also apprised of the innovative initiatives being undertaken by the office in the areas of citizen awareness and public outreach, including development of various awareness and publicity materials incorporating sign language videos and information in Braille script to ensure that passport-related information is accessible to hearing and visually impaired citizens, it said.

The MoS appreciated the innovative initiatives, and emphasised the importance of maintaining quality and transparency in citizen services, it added.
