Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister P Keshav on Saturday alleged that YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was ''never a victim but a culprit,'' who was self-certifying himself as a ''good person.''.

Addressing a press conference in Vijayawada, the finance minister claimed that Jagan's grandfather Raja Reddy had committed many atrocities.

Keshav's comments come in the wake of Jagan's recent accusations that his grandfather and uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy were allegedly murdered during the previous TDP governments.

''Jagan can never be a victim. He is a culprit. Jagan is issuing self-certificates that he was a good man,'' Keshav said, adding that the former CM was asserting that there was ''no better person than him.''.

He claimed that Jagan had tried to portray his uncle's alleged murder as being caused by a heart attack.

Further, he alleged that Jagan's family was the ''root cause of factionism'' in Andhra Pradesh politics.

Earlier, TDP Rajya Sabha MP Sana Satish Babu claimed that Jagan was the source of ''murderous politics and conspiracies.''.

Babu alleged that Jagan had politically encouraged the people accused of murdering Congress leader V Mohan Ranga and also gave key positions to the family members implicated in that case, referring to YSRCP leader D Avinash.

The Rajya Sabha MP questioned the motive behind entrusting Avinash with a district to oversee YSRCP affairs and also giving a key position to Kadiyala Bucchi Babu.

Further, he alleged that Jagan had appointed Gowtham Reddy, who allegedly made derogatory remarks against Ranga's death, as the chairman of Andhra Pradesh FibreNet during his government.

He alleged that the opposition leader was displaying double standards by making use of Ranga's fame for political gain and at the same time inducting family members linked to his death in his party.

Babu said that people recognised Jagan's nature and relegated him to just 11 seats in the Assembly.

Addressing a press conference on May 21, Jagan countered Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's allegation that YSRCP was an ''axe party'' by stating that his own family that became victims of political violence.

By saying ''axe party'', Naidu was alluding to the death of Jagan's uncle Vivekananda Reddy, who was allegedly done to death with an axe in the run-up to 2019 polls.

Jagan questioned who was truly responsible for a culture of conspiracies, violence, and political murders, recalling the alleged killing of his grandfather Raja Reddy during Naidu's government ahead of the 1999 elections to politically isolate YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

He referred his late father's death in a chopper crash as suspicious after Naidu allegedly challenged him in the Assembly, and raised questions over his uncle's death.

The YSRCP chief alleged that Dastagiri, who openly ''claimed his involvement in Vivekananda Reddy's death on live television interviews'', continues to move freely with police protection.

Further, Jagan claimed that the lawyer, Siddarth Luthra, who had represented Naidu when he was jailed, also represents Dastagiri, among other allegations.
