Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that speedy, transparent, and quality disposal of revenue cases should be included among the government's highest priorities, the UP government said in a statement.

''Disputes related to land and revenue are directly connected to the lives of common people, farmers' interests, and social harmony, therefore, unnecessary delays in such matters will not be acceptable under any circumstances,'' Adityanath said.

He also instructed that in cases remaining pending beyond the prescribed time limit, accountability of the officers concerned and personnel should be fixed and necessary action must be ensured.

Chairing a high-level review of the progress in disposal of pending cases in revenue courts on Saturday, the chief minister said, ''Through a technology-based system, accountability, and a time-bound working mechanism, the efficiency of revenue courts should be made even more effective so that common citizens can receive speedy justice.''.

Adityanath specifically instructed that cases pending beyond the prescribed time limit should be disposed of on priority through special drives.

He said, ''Regular reviews should be conducted at tehsil and district levels and accountability should be fixed for districts showing weak performance.
