The Madhya Pradesh government will establish Maa Saraswati Lok and Raja Bhoj Research Institute in Dhar, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Monday after performing puja at the Bhojshala complex.
The High Court recently declared the Bhojshala complex a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati.
Yadav said Maa Saraswati Lok and Raja Bhoj Research Institute will be established in Dhar.
While he didn't elaborate, the Saraswati Lok is likely to be a spiritual corridor dedicated to the goddess of knowledge.
''For the first time in the last 750 years, Goddess Vagdevi was worshipped with full rituals at Bhojshala, and for the first time, a Chief Minister performed rituals here,'' Yadav said.
He promised the development of Dhar, saying the government would fulfil the desires of the residents of the town.
After entering the Bhojshala complex, Yadav meditated before the portrait of Goddess Vagdevi and also took part in aarti, an official said.
Yadav remarked that Dhar is the city of Raja Bhoj, who, along with emperors Vikramaditya and Harshvardhan, is the son of the Malwa region.
''Raja Bhoj wrote numerous books and constructed buildings of ancient significance. He built the world's largest Shivalinga. Instead of blocking the main flow of the river, Raja Bhoj built the Bhopal Pond. Even the most learned scholars are amazed by his technique,'' Yadav said.
He added that Raja Bhoj had organised a conference and awarded participating poets a gold brick each. ''This is our glorious past''.
Referring to the High Court verdict on the Bhojshala issue, the chief minister said Dhar is now entering a new world. ''I congratulate the people of Dhar for this High Court decision,'' he said.
In its ruling, the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court held that the Bhojshala-Kamal Maula Mosque complex is a temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati. It also quashed the April 7, 2003, order of the ASI, which allowed Muslims to offer prayers on the premises every Friday.
''This decision stems from your 750-year-old struggle. The court has separated the wheat from the chaff in this matter. In the coming times, we need to resolve to further advance the Dhar district.
''We have pledged to further develop Dhar by visiting Mother Saraswati. We announce that we will make Dhar the land of Mother Saraswati. Everything you have desired will be here. It will become a centre of tourism and literature,'' Yadav added.
Referring to Raja Bhoj's tenure, Yadav said the king did commendable work in water conservation.
''Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many works related to water conservation are being implemented,'' he said.
On the occasion, groundbreaking ceremonies were held here for twelve projects to be constructed at a cost of Rs 88 crore.
