Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Anindita Mitra on Monday said during pre-SIR mapping in the state, more than 84 per cent voters have been mapped successfully.

During this mapping, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) conducted in Punjab in 2003 is being used as a basis for matching with the current voter lists.

In a statement, Mitra said even if a voter is not pre-mapped, the voter will still have to fill out the enumeration form provided by the BLO, after which the name of the voter concerned will be added to the draft roll.

The CEO appealed to the voters of Punjab to participate in the SIR in large numbers and offer maximum cooperation to the BLOs.

Under the SIR, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will undertake door-to-door visits across Punjab from June 25 to July 24 for filling voter verification forms.
