Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma described recent assembly election outcomes as proof of the BJP-led NDA's commitment to ensuring the state's peace and prosperity. He highlighted plans to boost Assam's economy to Rs 10 lakh crore by 2028.
During the assembly's Motion of Thanks to the Governor's Address, Sarma stressed the introduction of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill as evidence of his government's dedication to safeguarding the rights of women from minority communities. Sarma called for opposition support for the UCC bill.
Sarma also noted that the NDA gained traction by increasing its vote count and winning key constituencies, while also addressing issues like price rise. He praised Eidgah committees for avoiding cow sacrifice during Bakri Eid as a positive cultural move.
